A
literary sensation and runaway bestseller, this brilliant debut novel presents
with seamless authenticity and exquisite lyricism the true confessions of one
of American's
most celebrated.
5. Introduction of the novel :
Staring
out the bedroom window, Ronnie wondered whether Pastor Harris was
already at the church.
She assumed that hewas, and as she watched the waves breaking over the beach,
she questioned whether he was still able to notice the play of light as it
streamed through the stained-glass window above him. Perhaps not—the window had
been installed more than a month ago, after all, and he was probably too
preoccupied to notice anymore. Still, she hoped that someone new in town had
stumbled into the church this morning and experienced the same sense of wonder
she’d had when she’d first seen the light flood the church on that cold day in
November. And she hoped the visitor had taken some time to consider where the
window had come from and to admire its beauty. She’d been awake for an hour,
but she wasn’t ready to face the day. The holidays felt different this year. Yesterday,
she’d taken her younger brother, Jonah, for a walk down the beach. Here and
there were Christmas trees on the decks of the houses they passed. At this time
of year, they had the beach pretty. much to themselves, but Jonah showed no interest
in either the waves or the seagulls that had fascinated him only a few months earlier.
Instead, he’d wanted to go to the workshop, and she’d taken him there, although
he’d stayed only a few minutes before leaving without saying a single word.

of the novel :
At seventeen, Veronica
"Ronnie" Miller (Miley Cyrus) remaind as rebellious as she was the day
her parents divorced and her father moved to Georgia three years prior. Once a
classical piano child prodigy under the tutelage of her father, Steve Miller (Greg
Kinnear), Ronnie now ignored the instrument and has not spoken with her
father since he left. While Juilliard
School has been interested in her since she was young, Ronnie refused to
attend. Steve now has the chance to reconnect with his estranged daughter when
her mother, Kim Miller (Kelly Preston) sends the rebellious teen and her
younger brother, Jonah (Bobby Coleman), to spend the summer with him. Steve,
a former Juilliard School professor and concert pianist, lives a quiet life in
Wrightsville Beach, the small beach town in Georgia where he grew up, working
on a stained
glass window
for the local church to replace the one the church lost in a fire. According to
the locals, it was Steve who had (accidentally) set fire to the church one
night.
After arrival, Ronnie becomes miserable, defiant,
and defensive toward all those around her, including handsome, popular Will
Blakelee (Liam Hemsworth) whose introduction involved crashing
into her during a volleyball match, and accidentally spilling Ronnie's
strawberry shake on her. She shrugged him off and meets Blaze, an outcast who
lived with her boyfriend Marcus. While at a beach campfire, Marcus hits on
Ronnie and Blaze mistakes this for Ronnie flirting with him. Angered by this,
Blaze later frames Ronnie for shoplifting, causing her arrest. Later on, Ronnie
discovers a Loggerhead Sea Turtle nest at the beach by
her house and while protecting it from raccoons, she met Will again on his
volunteer work for the aquarium. After a night of staying up to defend the
turtle eggs from predators with Will, she discovered he was deeper than she
expected, and begun to develop feelings for him.
The next day, Will took Ronnie to where he worked to show her the aquarium. After they left to the beach, Ashley shown up and He told Ronnie about Will's past relationships and how taking them to see the
aquarium was routine of his, making Ronnie doubtful of her feelings toward him.
Will found her at the turtle's nest and they have an argument about his past
relationships. When Ronnie suggested she did not want to be another girl on the
list and that they should end their relationship for good, Will embraces her
and they kiss passionately, proving his feelings for her as akin to his quoting
she's "not like the other girls." Marcus breaks up with Blaze because
he wants Ronnie, which leads him and Will to fight at Megan's wedding party.
Ronnie soon heard the rumor that her father burned
down the church from some locals. Distraught, she goes to Will and laments
about the situation. Will, was knowing that it was actually his friend Scott who
while playing around set fire to the church, had overcome by guilt and went to
Steve to apologize. When Ronnie came in hearing this, she walked out and Will
follows where they had an argument and broke up. Will left.
Blaze and other townsfolk offer Ronnie sympathy and
kind words after the funeral outside. Later on, while talking to the
attendants, she ran into Will. He said that he liked the song she played and
that he knew her dad did too and Ronnie thanks him for coming. Having decided
to attend Juilliard, Ronnie is packing up to return to New York when she sees
Will standing outside. She went outside to see him and Will apologized to her
for everything that had happened and Ronnie forgives him. Will was surprising Ronnie

CONCLUSION
Seventeen year old Veronica "Ronnie"
Miller's life was turned upside-down when her parents divorced and her father
moved from New York City to Wilmington, North Carolina. Three years later, she
remained angry and alienated from her parents, especially her father...until her
mother decided it would be in everyone's best interest if she spent the summer
in Wilmington with him. Ronnie's father, a former concert pianist and teacher, was living a quiet life in the beach town, immersed in creating a work of art that
will be become the centerpiece of a local church. The tale that unfold was an unforgettable story of love on many levels - first
love, love between parents and children - that demonstrates, as only a Nicholas
Sparks novel could, the many ways that love could break our hearts...and heal them.
